Kansas City’s restaurant scene is always evolving as innovating eateries regularly pop up across the area. This fall is no exception.

From traditional Spanish paellas in the River Market to an all-you-can-eat Asian eatery in the Northland, there’s always something fresh for everyone to try. Here are 10 new and noteworthy restaurants, bars and coffee shops that have recently opened or are on the horizon this fall.

The highly anticipated 1587 Prime is living up to its reputation. A collaboration between Kansas City Chiefs stars Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes, along with Noble 33, this new steakhouse opened in September inside the Loews Kansas City Hotel. The upscale eatery features steakhouse classics like boneless ribeye and a 40-ounce Wagyu Tomahawk, plus one of the largest wine selections in KC.

The Paella Mix

The Paella Mix is bringing more bold international flavors to the City Market. As its name suggests, the restaurant specializes in traditional Spanish paellas but also serves tapas, sangria and dessert. Diners will find chef Carlos Saura, who was born in Seville, Spain — Kansas City’s first sister city — leading the kitchen.

All in One Eatery

Sushi, hibachi, pad Thai and more — customers can enjoy a taste of several Asian cuisines all under one roof at this new, all-you-can-eat restaurant in Kansas City’s Northland. At All in One Eatery, which opened at the end of August, diners order as much as they please on an iPad. To add to the dining experience, a robot will deliver the order to the table. Up next? All in One Eatery hopes to open a second location on the Kansas side of the state line.

Palm Tree Club

Palm Tree Club, co-founded by globally renowned DJ Kygo, opened in September in KC’s Power & Light District. With “vibe dining” at its core, Palm Tree Club is bringing coastal luxury to downtown KC. Enjoy prime KC strip sushi rolls or steak frites in the dining room or an espresso martini at the rooftop bar.

Vibe

Take a trip back in time at this new Overland Park bar. With a Y2K theme, Vibeis the Kansas City area’s only 1990s and 2000s nightlife experience. Vibe plays iconic throwback hits, everything from *NSYNC to Destiny’s Child, and features a retro, neon atmosphere that promises to “make Lisa Frank jealous.” Try the Electric Unicorn or the Chill Pill off the cocktail menu, along with small plates to share with friends.

Car No. 551

A new eatery is rolling into KC’s River Market neighborhood. Car No. 551 opened in September inside “Trolley Tom,” a 1947 former Kansas City streetcar, now permanently parked and outfitted as a dining and retail space. The grab-and-go spot offers barbecue, deli sandwiches, fresh salads, dessert and brunch on the weekend. While Car No. 551 is meant to be quick service, it can seat about a dozen inside the trolley and more outside on the patio as well.

The Brass Monkey

On the north side of Downtown Kansas City, guests will find a new cocktail lounge blending history, mystique and mixology. At this speakeasy-style lounge, customers enter through a discreet courtyard, and inside, warm lighting and vintage furniture create an intimate atmosphere.

The Brass Monkey, which opened in mid-September, is located in a restored building that once housed a vitamins and supplements company. Now the cocktail menu draws inspiration from the legend of a mystic healer. Try the Alchemist Experience, where playing cards guide the selections for your cocktail.

Cafe 333

A former Kansas City vegan restaurant is set to become a jazz club and restaurant this fall. Cafe 333 plans to open this November on Southwest Boulevard in the Crossroads Arts District, offering everything guests need for a night out — dinner, drinks and entertainment.

LaPez Mod Mex

After opening in mid-September, LaPez Mod Mex is ready to be the new destination Mexican restaurant in Leawood’s Park Place. The upscale, sit-down spot offers modern, coastal Mexican flavors like blue crab tostaditas, wild mushroom enchiladas and coconut tres leches.

Morning Rounds

Owner Andrea Rainey is shifting from “saving lives to morning delights.” In fact, there’s even a painting with those very words inside the new Morning Rounds Bakery in the Crossroads Arts District. Rainey, who is a nurse at Children’s Mercy Hospital, is now also a bake shop owner. Morning Rounds will have early hours — as early as 5:30 a.m. — when it officially opens in mid-October, a helpful fact for local health care workers and other early risers.
