A veritable “Who’s Who” of famous chefs have come to Kansas City for these events, giving Kansas City diners a glimpse of the tastes and trends that are shaping American cuisine. The American Restaurant is recognized all over the country as an outstanding icon of fine cuisine. In addition to its Mobil Four-Star rating, The American has received the AAA Four Diamond Award, Wine Spectator Magazine’s Award of Excellence, the Chaine des Rotisseurs Dining and Service Award and Hall of Fame Award, as well as being recognized locally by newspapers and magazines.
