It was designed in 1974 by architect Warren Platner, who also designed Windows on the World in New York and Water Tower Place in Chicago. Though its décor has been updated through the years, the timeless design and elegant surroundings are still breathtaking, and were honored in 1991 by the American Institute of Architects with its Allied Arts and Craftsmanship Award.
