Final Fridays Art Walk in Lawrence, Kansas

On the last Friday of every month (all year long!) from 5-9 PM, the streets of Downtown Lawrence and the Warehouse Arts District erupt. Storefronts convert into flash spaces and performances and exhibits spill in and out of galleries and businesses.  Final Fridays include activities for kids, exhibitions designed to challenge adults, music, dance, and theater for all ages.

Farmers Market

Rain or shine, City Market hosts the region’s largest Farmers Market on Saturdays and Sundays year-round. More than 150 vendor stalls burst with locally-grown plants, fruits, vegetables, meats, herbs, bakery items, cut flowers, and much more. City Market shops and restaurants remain open after Farmers Market ends. 

Science City

Science City is a place of wonder, where kids and adults can find something new with each visit. Throw the don't touch mindset out the window. There are no tests and no wrong or right answers, just a chance to explore with freedom and pure imagination.

Its magic starts with its location. An architectural and historic marvel, Union Station provides a venue unlike any other science center in the nation.

From the moment you pass under the clock tower to your first step inside the cityscape of Science.

City Market shops and restaurants remain open after Farmers Market ends. 

Monday Board Game Tavern at Alamo

Play games! Make new friends or play with old ones.

Alamo Drafthouse and Level One Game Shop are hosting Monday Night Board Game Tavern. We'll be bringing a large selection of games for people to play or learn, and we are here to make sure people have groups to play with. You are more than welcome to bring your own games as well!

Arabia Steamboat Museum

More than 200 tons of treasure recovered from the sunken 1856 steamboat Arabia, including China, jewelry, clothing, hardware, and food. Tours begin every 30 minutes. See website for times.

Kansas City Graffiti Tour

$25/person. Explore the best the best murals and street art in Kansas City. This two-hour walking tour gives a behind-the-scenes look at the art and artists in the Crossroads Arts District. Guides also discuss the dynamics affecting this rapidly changing area. The KC Improv Comedy Show

The KC Improv Show is The KC Improv Company’s signature show, featuring improvised comedy from the cast of The KC Improv Company. Games. Scenes. Characters. All made up, based on your suggestions.

The KC Improv Company started in a basement. 19 years later, they perform 5 comedy shows a week at The KC Improv Company Theater, multiple private events throughout the Kansas City area, and operate a year-round curriculum of improv classes.

Distillery Tours

Tom’s Town Distilling Co. is downtown Kansas City’s first legal distillery since Prohibition. Drawing inspiration from the country’s most polarizing and corrupt political boss, Tom Pendergast, Tom’s Town brings to life the glamorous magnetism of the Gatsby-era.

Beauty of the Game

The exhibit highlights the story of Effa Manley, who along with her husband, Abe, owned the Newark Eagles. However, it was Mrs. Manley who ran the day-to-day operations of the team from 1935-46 and eventually became the sole owner following her husband’s death. Mrs. Manley was a savvy executive and a shrewd negotiator who knew the business of baseball as well as any of her male counterparts.

Trivia Tuesdays at Bar K with Geeks Who Drink

The KC Improv Company presents Tandy Shoppe! Join Tandy as they invite one of their favorite teams to perform, before closing out the sweetest night in improv.
Tandy (Tiffany Chappell & Andy Perkins) take the stage to explore the connection between two characters. Based on your suggestion, Tandy finds the heart and humor that can come from two people in one place.
