Celtic culture here is a proud one—and one that people of all ages can celebrate, not just those of us older than 21.

Starting with Snake Saturday and Westport's 4-mile run, a week full of festivities is capped off on St. Patrick's Day with a parade and events around the metro.

Essential Heritage

Kansas City's Irish roots date back to its inception in the mid-1800s. Some 50 years later, Browne's Irish Marketplace was established—in 1887 to be exact—making it the oldest Irish business in North America.

The business, which has stood in its current location since 1901, is one of the many places to be during St. Patrick's Day in KC, and is the perfect subject for holiday-themed Instagram posts.

Another Decades-Old Tradition

Beloved in more ways than could possible be counted, Kelly's Westport Inn is a St. Patrick's Day institution, and has been for more than seven decades.

While it won’t be hard to find watering holes or crafty libations throughout the city, this Westport standby stands out as a must-visit for anyone in the mood to party. Snap shots in between fun for memorable photos in the years to come.
