Museums

Escape the heat at one of Kansas City’s treasured museums. The National WWI Museum and Memorial houses the most comprehensive collection of World War I objects in the world, alongside immersive exhibits and a memorial tower with sweeping views of the Kansas City skyline. This summer, the Official FIFA Fan Festival™ takes place on the museum’s lawn. Museum admission includes access to exhibitions and memorial grounds, with the option to experience Fan Festival activities, while quantities last.

Over 5,000 years of history from across the world are free to view at The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, where collections range from ancient ceramics to modern works. Beyond the galleries, the museum’s 22-acre sculpture park and annual cultural festivals offer plenty to experience outdoors. During the warmer months, locals gather on the museum’s lawn for picnics, stroll through the Ewing and Muriel Kauffman Memorial Garden, or opt for a more active outing with mini-golf inspired by works from the collection.

Take advantage of concert season and catch some of the best shows in Kansas City this summer. The Northland is home to one of KC’s newest open-air venues, the Morton Amphitheater, featuring a stacked lineup from Pitbull to Tyler Childers. For country music fans, check out Hot Country Nights in KC Live! or Country Stampede at Azura Amphitheater.
