Sword & Sorcery Weekend is coming to Science City!
Calling all witches, wizards, adventurers and curious minds! Step into a weekend of magical creatures, bubbling potions, color-changing wands, dragons and more—all with a little science behind the sorcery.
 
Creative Corner:
Fire-Breathing Dragon – ROARRR! Unleash your creativity to craft your very own fire-breathing dragon! Use cardboard tubes, tissue paper and a treasure trove of your choice.

Maker Studio:
UV Reactive Magic Wands – Abracadabra! Make your very own magical wand and discover the science behind a spell! Use UV-reactive beads to create a wand that changes color when exposed to ultraviolet light.

Early Learning:
Color Cauldron – Come one, come all to the Color Cauldron! Bring your young wizards and witches to the Color Cauldron in the PNC Learning Lab! Get ready to test your color skills, mix up potions and brew up some fun! Be forewarned: there may even be glitter involved.

Nature Works:
Join us at 11 am to meet our fantastic beasts and learn where they are from! Get up close with live creatures and learn these real animals have inspired some of the most famous magical creatures in fantasy and sci-fi.

Periodic Table:
Wizard’s Lair (pH Potion) – Do you have what it takes to create a potion? Come to the Periodic Table to learn how mixing acids and bases create different colorful potions. Huzzah!

Alchemy Showdown:
Prepare for battle! Join Alpha Chi Sigma in Maze Park for the Alchemist Showdown, where speed, strategy and a 20-sided die are used to solve math problems to fight against a dragon and friends! Do you have what it takes to be victorious?
