City Market is about to get a whole lot more colorful!
The KC Chalk & Walk Festival returns to transform City Market into an open-air gallery filled with street art, live creativity and hands-on fun.
Watch talented artists turn pavement into colorful works of art, including guest 3D chalk artists creating mind-bending pieces that seem to leap off the ground. Visitors can also catch live vertical painting in action throughout the weekend.
Kids can join the fun in the Children’s Creative Corridor, where they can create their own sidewalk masterpieces with free chalk provided. (bring your own towel or knee cushion)
Festival highlights include:
Chalk Art in Action – Watch artists create their work from start to finish.
3D Chalk Art – Find interactive, perspective-bending pieces made for photos.
Live Vertical Painting – See art come to life beyond the pavement.
Children’s Creative Corridor – Free chalk and plenty of space for young artists.
Live Music – The Traditional Music Society performs at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 5.
Since 2008, the nonprofit KC Chalk & Walk Festival has brought artists and the community together through street painting, performance and creative expression. At City Market, visitors can enjoy the festival alongside the weekend Farmers Market.
