Building tours will be on-going throughout the day. Speakers will discuss the preservation of Frank Lloyd Wright buildings beginning at 1 pm.

The Big Picture: Frank Lloyd Wright’s Broader Legacy

In 2019, eight buildings designed by Frank Lloyd Wright were added to the UNESCO World Heritage List for their “outstanding universal value” and global importance—but how does this resonate at the local level? This talk will share examples of Wright’s role in influencing generations of architects and designers, as well as discuss his relevance in the twentieth century discourse.

Reading FLW’s Community Christian Church: An Inside Track to a Successful Rehab
In 2021, STRATA Architecture + Preservation completed a historic structures report for Community Christian Church that provides a roadmap for future preservation efforts. This presentation will discuss the process used to gather information, assess the building, and formulate a plan. The same approach can be applied to rehab projects of all sizes.
