The Kansas City Blues Society (KCBS) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to increasing awareness, understanding, and appreciation of blues music, and preserving its place in America’s musical heritage. The KCBS works to expand the presence and vitality of blues music through promotional events, partnering with local venues to create shows, educational programs, and furthering development of blues musicians in the metropolitan area. We work to strengthen connections between the community and local musicians by bringing awareness of its value to members, musicians, and the community.
