The First City Museum houses collections of early Leavenworth frontier railroad and manufacturing industries memorabilia and artifacts, including buggies, cutters, Great Western Stoves, even a large bank safe where Buffalo Bill Cody’s father, Isaac, stored his gold dust. The museum also features prison-related memorabilia and two prison mockups. Extensive displays of Western Union Telegraph Morse code equipment and worker’s and handyman’s tools can also be discovered.
