The Library’s annual summer film series returns with a fresh lineup of FREE outdoor movies.
Fried Green Tomatoes (PG-13, 130 min.) is the second film in this year’s Off the Wall rooftop film series following the theme Color Our World.
Based on Fannie Flagg’s novel Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Café, this 1991 classic about friendship, family, and second chances, stars Kathy Bates, Cicely Tyson, Mary Stuart Masterson, Mary-Louise Parker, and Jessica Tandy.
A middle-aged Alabama housewife (Bates) is unhappy with her life and struggling marriage. She befriends a woman in a residential care facility (Tandy) and learns about some inspirational and reaffirming town history.
