The Midwest Genealogy Center is part of the Mid-Continent Public Library system and a nationally recognized destination for family historians. Conveniently located a few minutes north of I-70 in Independence, MO and just 15 minutes east of downtown Kansas City, MGC provides outstanding genealogy resources to visitors from around the United States and beyond on a complimentary basis. MGC features 52,000 square feet of space that houses all of the free resources and technology needed to research your family history. The Center presents free family programs and classes throughout the year on a variety of topics including beginner classes on tracing your family’s origins and presentations by nationally recognized genealogists and historians. The Center has free WiFi and free parking.
