George Owens Nature Park has given families the opportunity to reconnect with their natural environment since 1977. Open year round and provides 85 acres of beautiful forest, lakes, hiking trails and wildlife. A few of the activities individuals enjoy at George Owens Nature Park include: fishing, hiking, birding, wildflower viewing, picnicking, geocaching and nature photography. Our park lodge and lake view pavilion are available for rentals as well as our organized group camp area. Would your organized group like to include a service project in a camping trip or day out at the park? Participants will learn about our natural world by volunteering with park staff. We offer projects including trail maintenance, litter pick up, and invasive plant removal. Contact the Park Naturalist for program opportunties ranging from outdoor skills, ecology, leave no trace ethics, and the mammals of Missouri, to find out exactly what service projects are available at 816-325-6254.
