That could include small concerts, gameday festivities or watch parties for major events like the FIFA World Cup. Sporting KC aims to have the upgrades complete by summer 2026.

Kansas City is a host for the 2026 FIFA World Cup with six matches held at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.

Sporting KC’s state-of-the-art Compass Minerals National Performance Center is also one of three local base camp options for the upcoming World Cup. Base camps serve as a “home away from home” where national teams will train, rest and prepare during the tournament. Base camp announcements are expected in early 2026.

Children's Mercy Park

The 18,467-seat Children’s Mercy Park was most recently updated in 2012 when the team renovated the UMB Field Club fan area. The stadium is surrounded by Kansas Speedway, Hollywood Casino and several restaurants and retail shops at the Legends Outlets, making it an ideal all-day destination for Sporting fans.
