816 Day: It’s a chance to celebrate Kansas City and everything it has to offer.
Join local organizations and their partners on Saturday, Aug. 16, for a full calendar of festivities dedicated to the City of Fountains.
816 Day Events
Head to the City Market for one of the day’s signature events hosted by KC Streetcar and Art in the Loop. A lineup of live performances, ranging from folk to hip-hop, offer the perfect way to wrap up the day. 6 p.m.
At Kansas City’s Power & Light District, enjoy a free 816 Day Celebration featuring a vendor market, kids activities, live entertainment, food trucks and more. Noon to 9 p.m.
The new Creekside district in Parkville is ready for 816 Day. Visitors will find local vendors, live music, special appearances and even the KC Current Teal Mobile. Noon to 9 p.m.

Throughout the day, many local businesses will host parties and have special offers of all kinds. We’ll update this story as they’re announced.
Root for the Home Team
And while they’re not technically 816 Day events, what better what to celebrate Kansas City than by cheering on some of its best teams.
The KC Current will face Orlando Pride starting at 3 p.m. at CPKC Stadium. Then the Kansas City Royalswill take on the Chicago White Sox starting at 6:10 p.m. at Kauffman Stadium. Sporting KC will have an away match vs Orlando City SC starting at 6:30 p.m. but you can still watch the game at No Other Pub in Power & Light.
