Olympic athletes are coming to Kansas City.
Some of the biggest names in beach volleyball are coming to Kansas City
as the George Brett 4v4 Showdown returns to Shawnee Mission Beach Volleyball on October 3rd.
This year’s Showdown will feature 24 professional beach volleyball players, including 11
Olympians, giving Kansas City sports fans a rare opportunity to watch some of the world’s best
beach volleyball athletes compete just feet away from the action.
Headlining the field is Olympic gold medalist Phil Dalhausser, one of the most accomplished
American beach volleyball players of all time. He will be joined by a loaded group of
professional and Olympic talent including Taylor Crabb, Andy Benesh, Taryn Kloth, Kristen
Cruz, Chase Budinger, Kelly Cheng, Trevor Crabb, Sarah Hughes, and Miles Partain,
among others.
The event was created through a partnership between Hall of Famer Steve Obradovich,
Shawnee Mission Beach Volleyball owner Lance Windholz, and Kansas City Royals legend
George Brett, with the goal of bringing a level of professional beach volleyball to Kansas City
that fans in the Midwest rarely have the opportunity to experience.
Following a successful inaugural event in 2025, the George Brett 4v4 Showdown returns in
2026 with an even stronger field, growing from seven Olympians in its first year to 11 this
year, along with expanded spectator seating and an enhanced fan experience.
