Street Cafes and Temporary Outdoor Dining in KC

Thanks to recently updated city regulations, new outdoor seating spaces are available at restaurants and bars all across the city. Find favorites that have recently debuted an open-air dining space and make plans to return whenever you feel comfortable.

Due to recent changes in hours, local guidelines and occupancy restrictions at many locations, we recommend contacting businesses directly to confirm availability in advance of your visit.

RIVER MARKET

KC Taco Company

Long known for its outdoor market and sidewalk dining options, the River Market has added even more open-air seating in recent weeks. Just steps from the KC Streetcar, KC Taco Company now features an expanded patio that puts fresh margaritas and skyline views within easy reach.

POWER & LIGHT DISTRICT

KC Live Block

The Kansas City Power & Light District has transformed the centerpiece of the neighborhood into a sprawling outdoor dining space. The KC Live! Block is filled with newly-added outdoor seating options and access to surrounding restaurants including County Road Ice House, Johnny’s Tavern and McFadden’s.

CROSSROADS/WESTSIDE

 The Brick Temporary Patio

In the Crossroads Arts District, you'll find plenty of sidewalk space for drinks at the Brick or weekend brunch at the Belfry, helmed by James Beard recipient Celina Tio. For a handcrafted cocktail, snag a seat on the sidewalk at Lifted Spirits or Tom's Town.

A new parklet at Boulevard Brewing Co. provides a shaded spot to enjoy beers, canned cocktails and spiked sparkling waters from the long-standing KC institution.

WESTPORT

 Kelly's Westport Inn

Westport’s historic streets are open for dining every Friday through Sunday, with a rotating selection of restaurants and bars offering service each weekend. Expect neighborhood staples like Kelly’s Westport Inn and Gambal's Social Club to make their menus available.
