The national cemeteries of Leavenworth and Fort Leavenworth will observe Memorial Day on May 27. Sugar Creek’s 37th Annual Slavic Festival Friday, June 7 & Saturday, June 8 The 37th Annual Sugar Creek Slavic Festival returns on Friday, June 7, from 5:00 pm to 11:00 pm, and Saturday, June 8, from noon until 11:00 p.m. at the William Henry Harrison Park and Mike Onka Pavillion, located at 11520 E. Putnam, Sugar Creek, MO 64054. Admission is $5 for adults, children 12 and under are free. Slavic Fest celebrates the history of Eastern and Central communities in Kansas City and will feature the rich contributions of Women in Slavic Arts.
