Start Independence Day off with a bang! Lenexa’s 5K and 10K Freedom Run is what you make it. Lace up those sneakers, grab a friend or the family and start your festivities off on the right foot. More than 500 people will line up in Old Town Lenexa at 7 a.m. for the annual Lenexa Freedom Run. Runners, walkers and strollers welcome. Both courses are USATF-certified. Plus, we’ll set you up with a patriotic-looking tee to wear for the day. Stick around after the race for the Community Days Parade at 10 a.m.

Each holiday season, we look for high-quality crafters, artists and vendors to sell handmade artwork, holiday décor, jewelry, clothing, pottery, soap, woodworking, and more at our Sip, Mingle and Jingle event in November. This one-night-only event is a laid-back evening at the Public Market for customers to get a head start on gifts for everyone on their list.
