A Letter from the Visit KC Team

A Letter from Visit KC

Greetings from Kansas City, the Heart of America

On behalf of Visit KC and our regional hospitality industry of more than 48,000, thank you for your interest in Kansas City. Whether you’ve visited before or you’re a relative newcomer to the City of Fountains, we appreciate your consideration and value the opportunity to welcome you back  to KC.

From a remarkable $10-billion metro renaissance to our city’s first Super Bowl victory in more than a generation, Kansas City began 2020 as a hot destination in the heart of the country. But then COVID-19 hit, dramatically impacting the ways we come together. But, in a true testament to the Kansas City Spirit, our destination pivoted, once again displaying its trademark Midwestern grit and resiliency like it had many times before. James Beard chefs opened their doors to the less fortunate. Distillers began brewing hand sanitizer. And a destination on the rise rolled up its sleeves and got to work at home.

From safeguards at the Kansas City Convention Center to new cleaning protocols at Kansas City International Airport, the safety of our residents, visitors and convention attendees continue to be our top priority. Meeting planners will experience Visit KC’s commitment from the get-go, beginning with enhanced guidelines for safe, productive site visits as well as more broadly with the KC Clean Commitment, a coalition of more than 100 local businesses who have pledged their dedication to welcome conventions and visitors in a safe manner.

It’s in that sentiment that our team created a suite of digital resources designed specifically with you in mind. VisitKC.com/SafeMeetings has all the information you need to responsibly plan and attend a gathering in Kansas City. We’re updating these materials frequently, so we hope you’ll dig in and explore.

When the timing is right for your group to get back to business, Kansas City is ready and waiting. From the local jazz scene to our world-famous barbecue, much of what the world loves about Kansas City’s vibrant culture is still intact, just taking on new forms.

Thank you for your support of the meetings and events industry and your consideration of KC. We look forward to welcoming you. If we may be of assistance in the meantime, please do not hesitate to reach out to our team—we’re standing by and eager to help in any way we can. Thank you.

Respectfully,
