Kansas City Fashion Week brought 10 days of exciting fashion-filled events to various venues around KC from September 18-27, 2015. From a rooftop runway to fashion for a cause – there was something for everyone to enjoy. The Prettyography team was excited to participate in all of the festivities to catch a sneak peek of the coming spring and summer trends.
Kansas City Fashion week kicked things off with a runway show at the Independence Center that was full of ready-to-wear looks for everyone to enjoy. The theme was all about being yourself and true to your personal style.
From there the show moved to the rooftop of One Light Luxury Apartments for a gorgeous runway set over the rooftop pool. Flowing dresses and resortwear were the show-stoppers of the perfect evening.
Thursday thru Saturday Kansas City Fashion Week packed Union Station to bring three evenings of non-stop excitement and amazing designs.
Beginning with the Fair and Fashionable runway – local organizations brought attention to the importance of fashion for a cause. By taking the pledge attendees agreed to avoid tanning to raise awareness to the risk of skin cancer.
Friday brought an assortment of collections that ranged from menswear, to swimwear, to gorgeous gowns and caftans. The Spoonflower contest gave attendees the opportunity to vote for their favorite design. Lucia’s Sarto claimed the prize with their stunning grey gown.
Saturday was an incredible finale to the fun week. Designers showed the hard work of some fun partnerships. One we particularly loved paid homage to history Kansas City landmarks such as Bartle Hall, Union Station, and the Western Auto building through a mix of fashion and photography. We can’t wait until March to catch the next Kansas City Fashion Week!
