I certainly like the Kansas City Repertory Theatre and I follow [artistic director] Eric Rosen religiously because he’s changed The Rep. But I also like to watch what his associate art director, Kyle Hatley, is doing. I think that Kyle has a sort of young, bold, risky kind of mind.

You really can’t skip the Kansas City Ballet. Bill Whitener, the artistic director, invites the finest choreographers to work for him.

PHOTOGRAPHY FIX

The Hallmark photographic collection at The Nelson has etched out an identity for this city as a destination for lovers of photography.

MUSIC FIX

I just love the Harriman-Jewell Series. It’s right to my taste, and I love their variety of musicians.
