May we have this dance? The elegance and grace of Baroque music is on display in this concert featuring music of the 17th and early 18th centuries. Vivaldi’s Trio Sonata is based on a Portuguese dance tune, while Böddecker’s Sonata sopra “La Monica” features bassoon virtuosity in both slow and fast variations on the melody. J.S. Bach’s First Orchestral Suite caps off the concert, with seven movements based on Italian and French dances.

ANTONIO VIVALDI Sonata for Recorder, Bassoon and Continuo, RV 86
ANTONIO VIVALDI Trio Sonata in D minor, RV 63
PHILIPP FRIEDRICH BÖDDECKER Sonata sopra “La Monica”
JOHANN SEBASTIAN BACH Orchestral Suite No. 1 in C major, BWV 1066
