2023 Pride Month Events in Kansas City

All throughout June, celebrate Kansas City’s LGBTQ+ community at Pride events planned throughout the city. Here’s where to find the month’s highlights.

Kansas City PrideFest and Parade

Led by the Kansas City Pride Community Alliance, Kansas City’s signature Pride celebration returns to Theis Park for three days of festivities, June 9-11. Catch national acts and local performers on stage, plus food trucks, vendors, artists and more. On Sunday, June 11, the event schedule focuses on family-friendly entertainment.

Kansas City PrideFest will take place during the following hours:

Friday, June 9
5 to 10 p.m.

Saturday, June 10
12 to 10 p.m.

Sunday, June 11
11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Plus, don’t miss the KC PrideFest Parade, beginning at 11 a.m. on June 10 in the heart of Westport. The parade route stretches down Broadway Blvd. and Mill Creek Pkwy., concluding at Theis Park. View the full parade route here.

At the parade and all month long, check out the newly-completed street art at Broadway Blvd. and Westport Rd. The vibrant addition is a short walk from Bistro 303, the oldest operating LGBTQ+ bar in Kansas City.

Kansas City Rainbow Tour Launch Party
June 3

A brand new tour of Kansas City’s LGBTQ+ history launches on Saturday, June 3. Join the launch at the Kansas City Museum, then embark on a self-guided driving tour of the region’s contributions to the LGBTQ+ movement at your convenience.

Queer Bar Takeover at J. Rieger & Co.
June 3

An event that transforms a new bar into a dedicated space for KC’s LGBTQ+ community each month, June’s Queer Bar Takeover arrives at J. Rieger & Co. during the first weekend of June. Enjoy DJ CQUENCE and drink specials at Electric Park Garden Bar, plus an afterparty at Fountain Haus in Westport.

Pride On Vine
June 24-25

Returning to the historic 18th & Vine district for its third year, Pride On Vine features DJs and live performers, as well as the Pride On Vine Block Party on June 24 and the Vine Street Gayla on June 25.
