Chambourcin Nouveau Wine Weekend
For the first time ever the four wineries of the Somerset Wine Trail will release four Nouveau style wines the weekend of November 22nd. These Nouveau style wines are made with Chambourcin grapes, grown primarily in the American Midwest and the Loire Valley of France. Located just south of Kansas City, this event marks the reemergence of the Somerset area as one of the premier winemaking regions in the Midwest. Each winery (Somerset Ridge Vineyard & Winery, Nighthawk Vineyard & Winery, Middle Creek Winery, and White Wind Farms Winery) will showcase it's take on a Nouveau style wine. These limited edition wines will go quickly and make a perfect complement to Thanksgiving Dinner or a great gift for someone who appreciates locally made products. Make a day of it and enjoy the wineries in the comfort of the Miami County Trolley (tickets available at www.miamicountytrolley.com) or visit them on your own.
