10-day dining event raises more than $127,000 for Cornerstones of Care in 2023
Kansas City, Mo – Coming off one of the most successful Kansas City Restaurant Weeks since its inception, organizers of KC’s premier dining event presented the 2023 featured charity, Cornerstones of Care a $127,167 check in a ceremony held at the Cornerstones of Care – Ozanam Campus.
“Continuing in the long tradition of giving back to its surrounding community, the Visit KC Foundation and the Greater Kansas City Restaurant Association are proud to present this award to this year’s featured charity, Cornerstones of Care, said Kathy Nelson, President, and CEO of Visit KC. “It is not only the commitment from our area restaurants but also the entire Kansas City community who turned out to support Kansas City Restaurant Week through their participation that made this donation possible.”
Bill Teel, Executive Director of the Greater Kansas City Restaurant Association added, “Thanks to the generosity of our participating restaurants and diners, we are excited to award such a large donation to Cornerstones of Care which will allow them to continue their tremendous work with the youth and families in the Kansas City community.”

As part of Restaurant Week, participating restaurants pledge 10 percent of all menu sales to a rotating stable of charities. Through the generosity of Kansas City restaurants and their diners,
more than $3.6 million has been raised for local causes in Kansas City Restaurant Week’s 14-year history. In 2023, more than 200 restaurants participated in the January event.
