Sign up to join Heartland Conservation Alliance and the City of Kansas City, Missouri for hands-on conservation at Renewing the Blue: World Cup Cleanup. We are bringing neighbors, soccer fans, and river stewards together to care for the Blue River and get the area ready for the World Cup.

At 8am, City Councilmembers from the City of Kansas City, Missouri are going to kickoff the cleanup and join in the fun. Each City Councillmember will represent a World Cup team who’s homebase is in the KC metro, the District that removes the most honeysuckle will win something special.

By removing honeysuckle along the river and nearby trails, you help protect local wildlife, restore native plant communities, and keep our community’s green spaces healthy. This site is actually just upstream from the Renewing the Blue project sites where imperative restoration work is taking place.

All supplies are provided; you bring sturdy shoes, curiosity, and a willingness to get a little dirty for the river we share.
