The Kansas City Design Center, based in downtown Kansas City, Missouri, collaborates with students, design professionals, and civic institutions to “envision a future where design drives meaningful change in our community.”

The exhibition Resilient KC showcases end-of-semester works by architecture and urban design students who participated in KCDC’s Fall 2025 Studio, described as an “immersive design laboratory.”

Their projects focused on community resilience, including hubs — community centers that also serve as natural shelters during disasters or climate-related emergencies — and infrastructure, building prototypes of products that foster neighborhood self-sufficiency and strengthen community ties.

Participants’ work demonstrates how design can boost resilience and illustrates stories of Kansas City organizations leading these efforts.

Light refreshments will be served, starting at 4 p.m. and available while supplies last.
