Join HCA’s stream team for the 36th Annual Project Blue River Rescue organized by the Friends of Lakeside Nature Center and Little Blue River Watershed Coalition.

Help us care for the Blue River watershed from 9:00–11:00 AM at the Municipal Farm Conservation Easement (owned and managed by Kansas City but monitored by Heartland Conservation Alliance) along the Blue River (near 4601 E. Coal Mine Road, KCMO 64129; se GPS coordinates for parking location). Volunteers will work together to clean up the site, making a real impact on the health of the river and surrounding habitat.

After the clean-up, head over to Lakeside Nature Center for a free hot dog lunch from 11:00 AM–1:00 PM. Bring along any “trash treasures” you found during the clean-up to enter the Trash Contest at noon, the crowd will vote on the most unique finds!

Every year, volunteers discover some truly interesting items, and we can’t wait to see what you uncover. Join us for a morning of restoration, fun, and community. We look forward to seeing you there!
