Across soccer, rugby and basketball, three major events bring more international competition to KC and highlight the depth and reach of women’s athletics. For fans, it’s a chance to witness elite competition and star athletes, right here in the Heart of America.

PACIFIC FOUR SERIES

International women’s rugby is bringing the energy back to CPKC Stadium for the second year in a row. The United States women’s national rugby team takes the pitch as part of the PacificFour Series.

Last year’s USA-Canada women’s rugby match in KC drew 10,518 fans, setting the all‑time U.S. attendance record for a women’s rugby match. This year, United States, Canada, Australia and reigning champions New Zealand visit KC for an evening of elite international play.

On the field, rugby offers something different from the rest of the April lineup. The match is continuous, physical and fast-paced, with few stoppages and constant movement. The Pacific Four Series serves as a key measuring point for national teams as they prepare for upcoming World Cup competition.

MINNESOTA LYNX VS. NIGERIA WOMEN’S NATIONAL TEAM

T-Mobile Center | April 27

Professional women’s basketball returns to Kansas City as the Minnesota Lynx face the Nigeria Women’s National Team for a WNBA preseason matchup at T-Mobile Center. This game marks the WNBA’s first appearance in Kansas City since 2005, giving KC fans a special chance to see some of the league’s top talent in person as excitement builds around the upcoming season.

The match and the Minnesota Lynx also carry nearby connections. One of the league’s brightest stars calls Missouri home. Napheesa Collier was born in Jefferson City, Mo., and played her formative years just outside St. Louis. Collier has become one of the defining players in her era: an MVP candidate, Olympic gold medalist and one of the most influential players in women’s basketball today.

The matchup brings together two top programs. The Lynx enter this season as one of the WNBA’s premier franchises, with four league championships and a recent season finishing as a No. 1 seed for the playoffs. They’ll be tested by The Nigeria Women’s National Team (D’Tigress), which is currently ranked among the top teams in the world. D’Tigress arrives in Kansas City as part of a broader U.S. tour ahead of the 2026 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup.

Fans attending the WNBA preseason matchup can also take advantage of exclusive game‑week offers, including discounted tickets and a special hotel rate at AC Hotel Downtown Kansas City, conveniently located within walking distance of T‑Mobile Center and the Power & Light District.
