This year marks the 9th annual World Collage Day. The international celebration of collage, organized by Kolaj Institute on the second Saturday in May, invites artists and arts venues to participate.
Join us at the Library for a freeform, drop-in collage lab to build community, spark creativity, and increase collaboration.
How do you create collage art? Gather materials, such as old magazines, fabric scraps, decorative papers, or even books. Cut and tear elements, arrange and layer them on a sturdy base, like cardstock or paper, then glue them down to create a new image.
Collage has a remarkable ability to transcend borders and barriers, involving people regardless of their skill level. Professional artists sit alongside members of the public. Stop by and enjoy an art medium that transforms different elements into something new.
