Spinning Tree Theatre presents the commissioned world premiere of The Signer, a new play by Kansas City playwright Sarah Aptilon, April 17–26 at the Johnson County Arts & Heritage Center in Overland Park. Produced in partnership with SevenDays, this intergenerational drama brings together professional actors and young performers in a story about listening, empathy, and connection.
After the sudden loss of her mother, a teenage dancer travels with her father to clear out a mysterious family home by the sea. When she discovers a hidden journal belonging to a young ancestor, the past begins to unfold alongside her own story. As their journeys intertwine, she must decide whether to walk away from what she loves — or listen to the voice calling her forward.
