Giving Back
Visit KC partnered with the Greater Kansas City Restaurant Association to create Kansas City Restaurant Week in 2010. In addition to supporting the local dining industry, participating restaurants pledge 10% of menu sales to three charities: the Greater KC Restaurant Association Educational Foundation, the Visit KC Foundation and a featured community beneficiary.
Throughout the 16-year history, Kansas City Restaurant Week diners have raised over $4.2 million for local causes, including organizations like Kanbe’s Markets, Harvesters and the Don Bosco Centers.
For 2026, Visit KC and the Greater KC Restaurant Association are proud to announce reStart Inc. will be the featured charity for KC Restaurant Week.
Kansas City-based reStart Inc. walks alongside individuals and families experiencing homelessness, helping them find a pathway home. As the only agency in the KC region serving all populations — youth, veterans, families and single adults — reStart meets people where they are. Alongside shelter, meals and supportive services, the agency provides the tools and dignity needed for lasting stability.
reStart plans to use KC Restaurant Week donations to support its meal programs, nutrition education and homeless meal outreach.
