ABOUT THE CHAMPIONSHIP

Kansas City was the initial host of both the Men’s and Women’s Championships in the first six years of the Conference (1997-2002), and again in 2005, 2008 and 2010-12. The men’s postseason event has continued its run in KC since 2010 while the Women’s Championship will return to Municipal Auditorium—where it has been played each year the Women’s Championship took place in Kansas City, and will continue to do so through 2024.

Baylor claimed the title in 2019 after defeating Iowa State in the championship game, 67-49. This was Baylor’s eighth title in the last nine years.
