Kansas City is thrilled to once again host the Phillips 66 Big 12 Men's Basketball Championship. The 2021 event marks the 20th time that Kansas City will host a portion of the Championship—more than any other city. Here's everything you need to know.

  • Quarterfinals – Thursday, March 11

T-Mobile Center Guidelines

Seating capacity for the Big 12 Men’s Basketball Championship will be reduced in accordance with guidelines from local public health officials including utilizing a Pod Seating structure. As an additional precaution, masks are required for guests at all times, except when actively eating or drinking in their seats, unless otherwise exempted by law. Pods are available in groups of 1-8 and will be physically distanced from one another. Pods must be purchased in their entirety and may not be divided. All pods are subject to availability and limit 1 pod (maximum 8 tickets) per guest. A complete list of venue safety and wellness protocols may be found here.

About the Championship

Big 12 Championship at Sprint Center

The 2021 Phillips 66 Big 12 Men's Basketball Championship will be held at T-Mobile Center, formerly known as Sprint Center, in Downtown Kansas City on Wednesday, March 10, through Saturday, March 13. The 2021 championship will be the 20th held in Kansas City (1997-2002, '05, '08, '10-'20). Other cities to host the event include Dallas (2003-'04, '06) and Oklahoma City (2007, '09).

Iowa State claimed the title in 2019 after defeating Kansas in the championship game, 78-66. The 2020 Championship was not completed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
