Welcome fans to the NCAA Division II Football Championship informational site! The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) and the Kansas City Sports Commission hosts the 2017 NCAA Division II Football Championship at Children’s Mercy Park on Dec. 16, 2017, at 5:00 p.m. CT. Kansas City is excited and honored to have the opportunity to host the championship. Please use this site to help plan your stay in our great city.
Tickets for the 2017 NCAA Division II Football Championship are now available online here.
The Division II Football Committee will seed the final four teams following completion of the quarterfinal games, therefore, bench position will not be determined until the final two teams have advanced. Immediately following the semifinal games, the advancing team’s athletic department will be provided with an electronic allotment of 2,000 tickets, located behind their bench, to promote directly to their fans.
CHAMPIONSHIP PEP RALLY DECEMBER 15
The Championship experience begins Friday evening as the MIAA hosts a pep rally for the championship teams on the KC Live! Stage in Kansas City’s Power & Light District. KC Live! is a covered open-air venue with seating, heaters, and fire pits. Located a few blocks from the team hotels in Downtown Kansas City, the Power & Light District is a dining, entertainment and shopping district.
The Pep Rally begins at 7 p.m. and fans of both teams are invited to cheer on their spirit squads and pep bands as the anticipation and excitement begins for the Championship game. After the Pep Rally, enjoy dinner and entertainment at one of over 50 restaurants and bars in the Power & Light District. GAME DAY DECEMBER 16
• Parking is available in the Children’s Mercy Park parking lots free of charge.
• All parking lots will open 4 hours prior to game time and close 2 hours following the game (cars will be towed to Lot D if they are still in parking lots past closing time).
• Trailers, campers, buses, RV’s or any vehicle deemed too large to occupy a single parking space, will not be permitted to park in the designated General Parking Lots. As you enter off of State Avenue and 110th, a parking associate will direct you to a lot that will accommodate the size of your vehicle.
• Tailgating in all General Admission lots is encouraged; however, your vehicle can only occupy one parking space.
Please contact your institution regarding any fan/alumni events that they have organized at Children’s Mercy Park or other greater Kansas City area locations.
