Welcome fans to the NCAA Division II Football Championship informational site! The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) and the Kansas City Sports Commission hosts the 2016 NCAA Division II Football Championship at Children’s Mercy Park on December 17, 2016 at 3 p.m. Central Time. Kansas City is excited and honored to have the opportunity to host the championship. Please use this site to help plan your stay in our great city.

Starting October 10 at 10 AM, tickets for the 2016 NCAA Division II Football Championship are available online at www.ncaa.com/tickets.

For the first time in 2016, the Division II Football Committee will seed the final four teams following completion of the quarterfinal games, therefore, bench position will not be determined until the final two teams have advanced.  Immediately following the semifinal games, the advancing team’s athletic department will be provided with an electronic allotment of 2,000 tickets, located behind their bench, to promote directly to their fans.

The Championship experience begins Friday evening as the MIAA hosts a pep rally for the championship teams on the Live! Stage in Kansas City’s Power & Light District. KC Live! is a covered open-air venue with seating, heaters, and fire pits. Located a few blocks from the team hotels in downtown Kansas City, the Power & Light District is a dining, entertainment, and shopping district.

The Pep Rally begins at 7 PM and fans of both teams are invited to cheer on their spirit squads and pep bands as the anticipation and excitement begins for the championship game. After the Pep Rally, enjoy dinner and entertainment at one of over 50 restaurants and bars in the Power & Light District. For a list of venues and for parking information go to www.powerandlightdistrict.com.

Special thanks to the city of Kansas City, Missouri and the Neighborhood Tourist Development Fund for supporting the pep rally!
