Where to Find All 155 Parade of Hearts Locations in Kansas City

Updated March 16, 2022: Some hearts may not be at their locations yet, as distribution across the metro area is still taking place.

From lifelong area residents to fans who admire KC from afar, those with a fondness for America’s Heartland can often be recognized for (literally) wearing their hearts on their sleeves. This spring, the outpouring of Kansas City affection is spilling over to sidewalks and city streets across the region in brilliant fashion.

The Parade of Hearts has officially begun, bringing more than 150 towering heart sculptures to locations from the Kansas City Zoo to Kansas City, KS, and everywhere in between. Whether you’re striking out to see every last one or simply seeking to find a few highlights in your neighborhood, here’s your guide to this one-of-a-kind arts tour across the Heart of America.

Know Before You Go

Riverfront Heritage Trail

  • The 155 hearts will be on display through the end of May. The hearts showcase works of art from 123 individual artists, all with connections to Kansas City. They’re free to visit and include detailed information on each featured artist.
  • Originally worn by KC’s championship-winning Negro American League team, the Kansas City Monarchs, in the 1940s, a line of T-shirts by Charlie Hustle brought additional visibility to the KC heart design in the modern era. (Meanwhile, a partnership between the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum and the revived Kansas City Monarchs has brought much of the team’s iconography back to the field.)
  • All funds raised during the Parade of Hearts (through sponsorships and an auction after the sculptures finish their public display) will stay in the region and support education, small minority-owned and women-owned businesses, hospitality & tourism, health & wellness, and arts & culture via the Mid-America Regional Council, AltCap, the Visit KC Foundation, the University of Kansas Health System and stipends for individual artists.
  • Navigate your journey with the Parade of Hearts mobile app, featuring a map that’ll help you find all 155 hearts as well as artist information for each work.
