reStart Inc. selected as featured charity partner to support meal programs for KC homeless

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Visit KC and the Greater Kansas City Restaurant Association are proud to announce Kansas City Restaurant Week 2026 will return Jan. 9-18.

KC’s premier dining event celebrates and supports the hospitality industry by showcasing Kansas City’s diverse dining scene.

The 10-day event offers residents and visitors alike a unique opportunity to enjoy multicourse menus at exclusive prices, while also supporting local charity initiatives. Price tiers will be $20, $40, $50 and $65 for diners in 2026, offering a new opportunity for more elevated experiences.

Community Beneficiary

As part of KC Restaurant Week, participating restaurants pledge 10% of menu sales to three selected charities: the Greater KC Restaurant Association Educational Foundation, the Visit KC Foundation and a featured community beneficiary.

Since the annual dining celebration’s inception, Kansas City has raised over $4.2 million for local causes throughout its 16-year history.

For 2026, Visit KC and the Greater KC Restaurant Association are proud to announce reStart Inc. will be the featured charity for Kansas City Restaurant Week.

Kansas City-based reStart Inc. walks alongside individuals and families experiencing homelessness, helping them find a pathway home. As the only agency in the KC region serving all populations — youth, veterans, families and single adults — reStart meets people where they are. Alongside shelter, meals and supportive services, the agency provides the tools and dignity needed for lasting stability.

reStart plans to use KC Restaurant Week donations to support its meal programs, nutrition education and homeless meal outreach.

“Food is one of the most powerful ways we connect as a community, and at reStart, it is also a lifeline,” said Stephanie Boyer, CEO of reStart.

“Each year, we serve nearly 90,000 meals to children, families and individuals experiencing homelessness. Being selected as the Kansas City Restaurant Week charity partner means the meals we share at reStart are directly supported by the meals shared across our city — and together, we are nourishing both hope and stability.”
