What does peace look like when it becomes something we practice together?

Join the Greater Kansas City Interfaith Council for an afternoon of music, storytelling, poetry, prayer, conversation, art, and community at the International Day of Peace Festival.

Peace is more than the absence of conflict. It is something we build through relationship, curiosity, creativity, justice, and the willingness to encounter one another across our differences.

☮ Listen to extraordinary Kansas City musicians

☮ Explore community organizations working for peace and justice

☮ Experience poetry and storytelling

☮ Participate in workshops and art activities

☮ Hear prayers for peace from different faith traditions

☮ All ages, faiths, traditions, identities, and perspectives are welcome

 

Activities / Performances will include:

1:30-2:30 – Howard Mahan & Friends, blues and rock roots and jam music;

2:30-3:30 – Ensemble Iberica, Beau Bledsoe on Guitar , Ezgi Karakus on Cello and John Currey on percussion, Drawing from global musical traditions, from classical and jazz, to Latin America, Portugal and Turkey.

3:30-4:30 – Millie Edwards & Friends, Millie is KC Veteran Jazz Vocalist, “the little woman with a big voice”
