The American Reserve’s dining experience is centered around small plates and contemporary cuisine, with signature cocktails in a modern, upscale, unique, urban-living-room setting. The American Reserve is located in the Ambassador Hotel in downtown Kansas City, Mo. – only a few blocks from the Midland Theatre, the Power & Light District and the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts. Executive Chef, Bryant Wigger, has been cooking professionally for over 20 years. He is originally from northwest Missouri where he grew up on a 127-acre farm where working the land and raising animals gave Chef Bryant a deep understanding and respect for food. Chef Bryant began his culinary career during college working at D&G restaurant in Maryville and the St. Joseph Riverboat Casino. In August of 1999 he moved to sunny southern California where he worked at the Hilton in Anaheim, Pascals in Newport Beach, The Ritz Carlton in Laguna Niguel, the Four Seasons Aviara in Carlsbad, The Beverly Wilshire, and the Four Seasons Los Angeles in Beverly Hills. He then changed direction and went back to restaurants, opening Trattoria Neapolis in Pasadena and Wildcraft in Culver city before returning to Kansas City. Chef Bryant has received top 1000 Italian restaurants in the US as well as Best Italian Restaurant in San Diego by Zagat at Vivace in The Four Seasons Aviara. At Trattoria Neapolis in Pasadena he received many great accolades including one of the hottest new restaurant by Zagat and best new restaurant in Pasadena to name a few.
