In honor of KC Local Week, we’ve rounded up some of our top picks of breakfast and brunch spots that are worth waking up for. And if you need an extra little jolt to help get your day started, be sure to stop by one our favorite coffee shops around the KC metro area.

Aixois Bistro

For more upscale morning outings, Aixois Bistro in Brookside provides the perfect setting. Sample classic French fare on the lovely outdoor patio (leashed dogs are welcome to join diners) or enjoy the scenic views from the windowlined private banquet room. Aixois offers brunch on Sundays from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The brunch menu includes omelettes, quiche pastries, coffee, fruit and more. We recommend trying the simple yet delicious salade maison, a mixed green salad with citrus vinaigrette and sautéed potatoes.
