|
Herm Edwards is the head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs. Sunday's at Arrowhead Stadium is filled with great tailgating, world-class barbeque and the best football fans in the nation. We sit down with Coach Edwards for a little Q&A on his favorite spots in KC. What makes sports in Kansas City unique? The fans’ passion. With so many major universities in close proximity, it seems like every weekend during football season there’s a big college game people are talking about. What’s Kansas City’s best-kept sports secret? I think many people would be surprised by the quality and quantity of golf courses in Kansas City. You can play a great golf course here virtually year-round. No matter your skill level, there’s a course that will challenge you. |

What’s your insider-tip for someone visiting Kansas City? Barbeque, barbeque, barbeque. There’s probably a style of barbeque that you’ll enjoy no matter your taste. If you talk to ten different people, they’ll give you give you 10 spots. I’m partial to Gates Bar-B-Q. What do you love best about Kansas City? It’s a great place to raise a family with all the benefits of living in a big city, while still enjoying the sense of community you find in a small town. Folks are genuinely friendly and helpful. It’s my kind of town.
18th & Vine Historic Jazz District says old-time Kansas City to me. Enjoy dinner, Jazz, and imagine Charlie Parker and the gang were in their prime. The National World War I Museum at Liberty Memorial is filled with reverence and honor for me, the son of a Master Sergeant in the US Army. Country Club Plaza is the place to go for an evening out with shopping and restaurants galore. |
