The National Military Heritage Society and Museum was incorporated as a 501 (c)(3), not-for-profit corporation, for the purpose of preserving the military heritage of the United States of America. We feature exhibits of all branches of the military - -Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, Air Force
We are located in historic downtown St. Joseph, Missouri, at 7th Street and Messanie. Which served as the first police station in St. Joseph. This beautiful building is showing signs of its age but is in remarkably good condition. It is a three-story building that still has the original slate roof. After WW II, it served as the home of the 1st later renamed 4th 105mm Howitzer Battalion as a United States Marine Corps Reserve Training Center. The third floor originally was a gym but during the Marine tenure was used as a small-bore rifle range. We are in the process of listing the building with the National Registry of Historic Places.
