Kansas City Renaissance Festival
The Kansas City Renaissance Festival celebrates the fall harvest and its 35thanniversary for 7 fantastical weekends, just north of I-70 and K-7 highways in beautiful Bonner Springs, Kansas.
This grand scale, imaginarium show opens September 3rdand runs through October 16, 2011: on the weekends, Labor Day and Columbus Day from 10:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m., rain or shine. Hear the cannon BOOM! The village welcomes 180,000 visitors each fall.
Join Robin Hood and his band of Merry Men, as they work to undermine the Evil Duchess. She has raised taxes again, and is terrorizing the village with the equally evil Sherriff of Canterbury. Robin Hood, Maid Marion, Little John, and many other beloved characters step out of the books of legend and into the lanes around you.
New this year, The Green Man will catch you by surprise when you spy a 12’ high, graceful tree slowly walking through the lanes, mesmerizing the crowds with his limber movements. He’s a little camera shy at times, and he may hide behind ….another tree!
Everybody’s favorite Swill Pond Show has returned! Robin Hood and Little John meet the evil Sherriff of Canterbury on a narrow plank over the swill pond. Someone is bound to get wet!
