Seasonal Marketing Campaigns: Chill Out in KC
Overview
We want to thank you for your participation in our 2009 citywide, leisure marketing campaigns. The four marketing campaigns – Chill Out in KC, Sunsational KC, Fall for KC and Season of Magic – generated record traffic to VisitKC.com. The special offers section of the Web site produced nearly 1.2 million page views.
Marketing highlights include:
- Highly-targeted, rich-media online banner campaign (5-state region)
- Exposure to 200,000 visitors per month via VisitKC.com
- E-mail marketing to the CVA's 100,000 opt-in Regional Traveler Database
- Search engine marketing (5-state region)
- Targeted publicity with regional and national media outlets
- Social Media: KC has nearly 28,000 fans on Facebook and 3,000 followers on Twitter

2009 Summer Campaign Overview
The Kansas City Convention & Visitors Association has officially launched its new Sunsational KC 2009 summer marketing campaign.
The $1.3 million leisure advertising campaign is one of the largest media buys in the CVA's history. The ads will target the top drive markets for Kansas City travelers: Des Moines, Lincoln, Manhattan/Topeka, Omaha, Tulsa, St. Louis, Wichita and Springfield, Mo. The campaign will run through mid August.
