Great Family Spot

This is a great spot for the whole family. Some things we liked: it's all indoors so anytime of year is great. The kids loved the pioneer wagon and log cabin with play food and pioneer toys inside. The history, videos, & still life's about the LDS church were interesting for the adults and older kids.

Learned a lot about the history and beliefs of Mormons didn't know their Missouri connections. Learned that many things that float around about Mormons are erroneous. It was a nice to learn more about the religion and culture without feeling pressured to contribute money, join, etc.

We learned a lot about the LDS beliefs and enjoyed the beautiful presentations. Not only were there visual exhibits, but several "walk-through" learning experiences as well, i. e. we were seated in a log cabin situated in an "outdoor" setting (rail fences, brush, outdoor sounds) while inside the cabin was an authentic representation of a pioneer family home. Around the corner was a modern-day home setting where we were guided through the different "rooms" of the home and watched short presentations in each about the LDS view of family life, what happens after death, and how these beliefs are centered on the life and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We were touched by the messages and sincerity of the lady missionaries who guide the tours. It was a great experience for our entire family.

Wow, what a great experience for Mormon and Non-Mormon alike, the Visitors center is all about the family and it is totally free. There is something for everyone, even little kids, there is a play area that brings the kids back to the 1800's. Fun for the whole family and did I say it was free!
