For more than 60 years we've been dedicated to the preservation, interpretation and education of regional history. We collect through donations original materials and make them available in our Archives & Research Library. We sell local history titles in our Bookshop. Visitors may tour our 1859 Jail, Marshal's Home & Museum, or the Truman Office and Courtroom, all on the historic Independence Square. Our nonprofit organization is supported by memberships, donations and bequests. We also publish a scholarly journal twice annually. Individual and group tours are available.
