See one of the world's most creative companies come to life. Located in Kansas City's Crown Center complex, the Hallmark Visitors Center celebrates the Hallmark story in a display of remarkable exhibits, from our founder's humble beginning in 1910, to the creation of one of the world's largest greeting card company. Step inside the Timeline exhibit where you'll view historical artifacts that reflect various eras and trends throughout 20th century America into the new millennium. Marvel at the J.C. Hall Christmas Trees, a collection of 17 unique and imaginative trees. Visit with some of our Hallmark craftspeople a graphic arts technician or press operator as they demonstrate hot foil stamping and die cutting, processes used in the manufacture of greeting cards. You can even press a button to create a star-shaped bow that you can take home as a souvenir. There's so much more to see at the Hallmark Visitors Center. This stop is sure to add many happy memories of your visit to Kansas City. And the best part is...it's FREE!
Push a button, make a bow!

No trip to Kansas City is complete without a visit to Crown Center and the Hallmark Visitors Center. We start the chant "Push a button, make a bow!" as soon as we get close! The Hallmark Visitors Center is a refreshing trip into the history and culture of one of KC's best known businesses. Nostalgic for adults and fun for the kids. There are video kiosks throughout the displays telling the story of Hallmark as well as showing numerous commercials from around the world and the best of American commercials. There is a theatre that shows a 15 minute film about Hallmark that is a great place to rest from shopping and other activities. Always uplifting and inspiring.
Push a button, make a bow! See cards being made and talk to one of Hallmark's most charming employees as he or she is working.
Don't miss out on the coupons available online or at Crown Center for a free momento of your visit. And those with kids will want to stop in next door at Kaleidescope for free activities there.
Some interesting stuff

If I could give 1/2 stars, this would be a 3 1/2 star rating.
The visitors center is not large, but has historical cards from all during Hallmark's history, as well as information about famous artists associated with the company.
There is also information on how unique cards are made and a neat "ribbon-making" machine.
Unless you're the kind of person who reads everything, it will only take you about 30-45 minutes to get through the Visitor's Center (we did not go through Kalediscope).
The nice thing is that the location is ideal - right next to Crown Center and the WW I Museum.
See it while you're in the area, but it probably doesn't merit a long drive if that's all you're planning to see.
